Mobile Arm Support sub-components
There are a number of sub-components available for the Mobile Arm Support:
Standard Troughs, Large 10" (250mm), Medium 9" (225mm), Small 8" (200mm)
Custom Made Troughs, Infant 6" (150mm), Child 7" (170mm), Extra Large 11" (275mm)
Flying Saucer, short forearm and elbow support for horizontal activities like keyboard use, page turning, etc
Offset Swivel, replace the standard trough pivot to lower the centre of gravity of the forearm. This reduces muscles forces by self-balancing the forearm
Offset Swivel with Stops and Counterbalance Assist, as above with tilt stops and counterbalance (for weight of the forearm) rubber band system
Offset Swivel with Pronation/Supination Counterbalance Assist (Left) and the same with Tilt Stops, the advantages of an offset swivel (reduced muscle force needed for positioning) with a spring counterbalance (adjustable) acting along the axis of the trough to help supination and/or pronation
T Bar, Left and Right, with a series of threaded holes for length adjustment
T Bar Cover, Left and Right, grey (not shown)
Swivel Spoon, Fork, Spork: (spork is a combination spoon and fork) Lockable Swivel Cutlery stays level from plate to mouth
Eating Wrist Orthosis, three sizes, left and right, measured across the MCP joints, 2.5" (64mm), small, 3.0" (76mm), medium, 3.5" (89mm), large (not shown)
Bracket Relocator, used where mounting onto the ideal location on a wheelchair is compromised by upholstery, folding mechanisms or other hardware (especially on powered wheelchairs)
Free-Standing Frame, chrome plated (without Mobile Arm Support and mounting bracket shown)
Table mounting brackets and table standard and elevating proximal arms are available as separate items. Both proximal arms have extended uprights to allow adjust at the table surface for clearance of trough and other mechanisms.
New Balancing Mounting Bracket: this bracket can be used to balance a complete Mobile Arm Support quickly and easily. The left/right and front/back balancing wheels are independently adjustable enabling simple balancing without complicated tilting and rotating of the bracket about the back upright of the wheelchair (as with the standard wheelchair bracket).
