A 3D sheet will be chosen over a standard sheet when, for example, a lumbar curve is required in a seating shell and to save time in creating the compound curves at the seat/back junction (3D components pre-assembled into sheet).
A 3D back would be chosen over a standard back when, for example, a lumbar curve and hip flare (compound curve) will be required for a female client.
