Cladding and Interfacing

As with all seating systems the Matrix needs to be easily and efficiently interfaced to a wheelchair. A fresh approach has yielded a highly adaptable system allowing for a wide range of shape variation.

A reinforcing cladding system can be used to strengthen the Matrix shell anywhere required. The cladding system, using aluminium, stainless steel, and heat reformable carbon fibre, allows lightweight and cosmetic reinforcement of the Matrix shell wherever needed. Matrix cladding
Full information on the interfacing system (shown here), is available in the training manual. Interface Base Unit

The newest addition to our cladding choices is the heat reformable carbon fibre, which can be used to reinforce the Matrix in a very lightweight and cosmetic way.

When hot, the strip is draped and pressed onto the Matrix in the desired location. Cooling is rapid and so the forming can be done quickly. The carbon fibre strip is then drilled and attached to the Matrix using the special T-Nuts and screws, as with the aluminum or stainless steel cladding. Re-shaping can be done by heating the strip in an oven or with a heat gun.
