This is the page on which we will inform you of major (and sometimes minor) updates to our site.

 

3rd April 2010 — Launch of redesigned site

We have redesigned our site, making three main changes in the process. The site has been moved to the centre of the screen, which we hope customers will prefer. More importantly, we have changed from having the main menu down the side of the page to across the page, whilst also re-coding it.

We became aware that having the main menu down the side of the page meant that to click on any of the sub-menu options other than the top one, users had to move the mouse across and then down, plus the cursor had to be moved across a small area, which could be physically hard for some users to do. By having the main menu across the page, the mouse only ever has to be moved in one direction to access all the sub-menu options, plus there is a wider area over which to move the cursor.

Also, we discovered that the sub-menus didn't display properly and couldn't be used in browsers such as Firefox and Opera. At the time of discovery we were able to make a temporary fix, but the sub-menus were still very difficult to use. We also found that the sub-menus didn't appear at all in Internet Explorer 6. We have now re-coded the menu system so that the sub-menus display the same in all modern browsers.

We have not made any significant changes to the content of the site.
